When Cyndie told me that she had decided to write a cookbook, my first thought was, “of course”. Not only is she an amazing cook, she is an amazing EVERYTHING! Truly I have never met anyone who was so good at so many things. She is a teacher; an etiquette expert; an amazing seamstress; an artist; an actress, and yes, even a unicyclist! When she is not working, Cyndie is redecorating her house; hosting a party; involved in a church activity, or cooking for her family and friends. To put it simply, I am in awe of this woman! Cyndie has been my neighbor and friend for the past ten years. Her kindness and genuine love of family is evident in every aspect of her life. For example, she wrote this cookbook as a gift for her children, Catherine and Matt. However, her true legacy is the values she helped
instill in these two wonderful young people.

My cousin Cyndie, like her mother and our grandmother before her, is one of those now all too rare women who truly knows her way around a kitchen.
When we were little kids my home was in California and my sister Gael and I would
occasionally visit my grandparents in Crowley, Louisiana. Cyndie and her sister Becky lived nearby and we would play together at our grandparents' house. After a long hard day of riding bikes and playing house, we were always treated to something special from Ma Ma’s kitchen. I was introduced to some of the best food in the known world in that house so different from what I was used to! Now, decades later, eating at Cyndie's is one of my favorite treats because it's always soooo gooood. This wonderful cookbook will help to pass on our family's tradition of culinary excellence.
